The Art of Massage and Holistic Healing

About Me

I'm from Alaska. I have a true passion for helping others on their wellness journey.

I listen to your needs and pride myself on delivering your expectations and doing my best to go beyond.

I got into Massage Therapy because I'm part Filipina and nursing just wasn't for me lol ;-)

NO but honestly because I initially I found it to be extremely useful during delivery of my 1st child and I had back labor, but before that even as a child I have always understood the importance and healing abilities of touch. As kids me and my sister would rub each others back to help each other relax and fall asleep at night.

After that the first time I ever had a real massage I actually won a drawing from a chiropractors office I happened to deliver food to as a delivery driver. As I waited for them to go get money I entered on a whim and was notified later I had won.

I had no idea what to expect so am fully aware of the fears and uncertainty and always try my best to make others feel at ease if it's their 1st time also. I've been able to make the most squeamish feel at ease.

I show up and it just so happened to be someone in the family friend circle and I had no idea she was an MT. IT put me so much more at ease. This lady had been at many family gatherings. I've just never been the type of person to ask right out of the gates :what do you do for work" type and this is one of a few times it maybe would've been useful. Or not but whatever I was grateful it was her. I get my massage and it was the most amazing vacation I and moment of pure bliss and relaxation I had and much needed for the first time in far too long. I wanted to do that for other people. I felt rejuvenated, restored and balanced. I had no idea what to expect but it wasn't that I was surprised which is hard for me.

Fast forward a little further and I had a nanny job for a widowed single father and he came home one day obviously in discomfort offering to pay me extra if I rub his shoulders. OK sure, I'm kinda nervous but he has always been respectful and truly looks in pain. I accept and he's raving about what a natural I am. It was truly satisfying to be able to give him the relief he needed and from there I pursued  my passion of being a massage therapist. I took what I had learned from my own massage and did the same to him and loved the feedback.

It wasn't an easy road I had to enroll a few different times and withdraw due to family and life issues. My certificate says 725 hours but I have closer to 1200 hours.

I was practicing in Alaska and was blessed enough to have my own place in Anchorage for awhile after working from my home before it was regulated in Alaska. I used what formal training I had and got to work along with a lot of self taught methods like Youtube, getting massage and using the techniques I liked on others.

I graduated finally from Pacific Northwest Massage Academy in Vancouver, WA and am licensed in Washington and hope to return back home in the future and work in Alaska for one of the Native hospitals or communities to give back to my community.

I was a caregiver through school and for the last 8 years, my last client Jim paid for my schooling and saved my life and why I have named my geriatric services in his honor. "Jim's Geriatric Massage" I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him and only wish he could be here physically.

I plan on donating a portion of my profits to Swan Lake Senior Center in Sitka, Alaska. I used to go there to help my grandma work and what inspired me to get into a field of giving back. My grandma was a cook at the Double OO Senior Center (now called Swan Lake Senior Center) for many years and I spent a lot of time at my grandmas growing up and I enjoyed helping her at the senior center.

When I'm not working I love photography, outdoors, travel &  I'm a big foodie and concert goer. Music is life.

Book with me to make sure you end up in the right hands.
